LAKE COMO

Lake Como is one of the most magical places I have ever traveled to. It's peaceful, romantic, and timeless. Como living means exploring medieval remnants in stone villages like Bellagio and Varenna, and touring luxurious villas with rolling vineyards and olive trees. The best way to do it all? By boat, of course.

OVERVIEW

WHEN TO GO: August/September

WHERE TO STAY: Hotel Grand Tremezzo, Borgo de Terrazze

THINGS TO DO

  • Visit Bellagio - a picturesque stone village with silk shops and outdoor cafes
  • Go to the spa at Grand Tremezzo, have lunch, and lay by the floating pool
  • Take a boat tour from to see the entire lake and gain some local knowledge from the boat caption
  • Take a tour of Como's historic mansions like Villa del Balbianello and Villa Carlotta

The lake is very large, but you can easily catch ferries or water taxies to explore towns around the lake. Each town has it's own personality and charm. Some of my favorite towns include Bellagio, Tremezzo, and Varenna.

SHOP ITALY

Bellagio

Walk around the charming town of Bellagio and discover some of the best dining tucked away in the stairwells. Definitely check out the Italian silk shops and stock up on scarfs!

Villa Melzi

Villa Serbelloni Garden

Ristorante La Punta

Borgo Le Terrezze

Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni

Hotel Belvedere

Tremezzo

The dreamy lakeside town of Tremezzo is just a 10 minute ferry ride from Bellagio. It also has two of the most breathtaking villas which you can tour, and one of the lake's grandest hotels.

Hotel Grand Tremezzo

Villa Carlotta

Varenna

A low-key little town with scenic, lakefront dining.

Lakeside promenade in Old Borgo

Villa Monastero

Castello di Vezio

Villa Cipressi

CAMOGLI

The brightly painted fishing village on the west side of the peninsula of Portofino, between Genoa and Cinque Terre. It's not a very well known American tourist destination (which I very much appreciated), and it is filled with local tourists from Italy. Camogli is just 2 hours from by car from Milan.

OVERVIEW

WHEN TO GO: August/September

WHERE TO STAY: Hotel Cenobio de Dogi

THINGS TO DO

  • Get some sun on the umbrella studded beaches
  • Walk around the small town of Camogli overlooking the water
  • Visit Basilica Di Santa Maria
  • Take a boat tour to Portofino with Portofino Water Taxi - ask for Andrea!
  • Enjoy Camogli's favorite dish - Trofie Pesto Pasta

Turks & Caicos

ABOUT TURKS & CAICOS

The Turks & Caicos Islands are a vacation dream come true! White sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, and tropical tranquility, what's not to love? The journey to paradise is just a quick two hour flight from Miami to Providenciales airport.

The highlight of Turks & Caicos is the 12-mile Grace Bay beach, which is lined with hotels and upscale homes. Weather in Providenciales is beautiful year round, ranging anywhere from mid 70's to mid 80's and the locals are friendly and easy going. There are plenty of activities like the world's best diving, boat tours, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and of course, relaxing on the beach :-)

MY EXPERIENCE

In May of 2017, I traveled to Grace Bay Club with Foray Collective and had the most incredible experience! It was my first time in Turks & Caicos and I was really excited to explore this beachy new destination with my friends; Ruslana GeeJourdan Sloane, Rosa Crespo

turksandcaicos-somethingbeachy

After a long day of traveling from LA, we checked into our luxurious room in "The Estate" building, which had a large balcony overlooking the ocean and main pool. We watched the sunset and had dinner at one of the "Private Villa Collection" beachfront homes owned by Grace Bay Club. The modern villa was breathtaking and had amazing atmosphere to kick off the trip!

The next day, we headed to Bugaloo's Conch Shack to have lunch, dance to local music, and explore the conch studded island. We spent the entire day here hanging out (the photo opps with the colorful houses were just too good). After a day of sun, we headed to Grace Bay Club's Anani Spa for massages and facials. My facialist was really educated in the products she was using and my skin felt heavenly afterwards! I highly recommend going to the spa if you visit Grace Bay.

On our third day, we took a charter boat out to sea to check out some other islands. The sand was SO white and fluffy and the water was the prettiest shade of turquoise I have ever seen! We were also lucky enough to see a few dolphins and stingrays along the way. Once we wrapped up the boat tour, lunch was served local style at STIX on the beach. The remainder of the day was spent relaxing and swimming in the ocean. Dinner was set up beautifully on the beach by the Grace Bay Club team where we had delicious food, great conversation, and lots of wine to wrap up our final night.

Coachella 2017 Recap

Travel, LifestyleKelsey White2 Comments

Phew, I survived Coachella again!

Foray hosted a 16 bedroom estate filled with fashion bloggers, along with a 200+ person event on Friday, April 14th.  Margo and Me, Kaitlynn Carter, Thrifts and Threads, Michelle Take Aim, Hunt For Styles, Evelina, Xenia Overdose, and Becca Tilley are just some of the bloggers that stayed at the house.  It was great spending time with girls in the industry and getting to know them better!

Most house guests arrived on Thursday evening just before our "welcome dinner", catered by Chef V. Veronica was our chef for the weekend and she cooked the most delicious, healthy meals to keep us fueled at Coachella.

L'Oreal Paris was Foray's headline sponsor for the weekend, so they set up a "glam lounge" for house guests to get their hair + makeup done all weekend long...major life savor! UK retailer, boohoo, set up a "revolving closet" at the estate, where girls could pick out outfits every day.

On Friday, Foray x Vampped hosted the second annual Desert Oasis party. The event was sponsored by L'Oreal Paris, boohoo, and Her Campus, which all had awesome activations throughout pool area. We had Emily Ratajkowski host the event and she was really sweet...and so hot, seriously!

After the chaos we made our way to the festival grounds on Friday. Some of my favorite sets that night were Empire of the Sun, Phantogram, and Travis Scott - so bummed I missed Sampha and Glass Animals! The festival seemed quieter on Friday compared to the past few years I have been...

On Saturday, Foray x Funboy hosted a fiesta brunch, complete with a mariachi band. The massive buffet and a good laugh from the band was a perfect hangover cure. We spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool and recovering. Before the festival, we stopped by the Victoria's Secret Oasis to say hello to some friends and stock up on some goodies! Around 5pm, a group of us headed to the festival to catch the sunset. We spent most of our time at Rose Garden and The VIP bar where you literally ran into everyone! Majid Jordan, DJ Snake, Future, and Martin Garrix were some of my favs that night. We topped off the night at Neon Carnival and danced the night away.

Let's be real - Sunday I was dead. Two full days of nonstop socializing, dancing, and singing.  I was totally beat...but we had to do one last day! We made it out one final time to see Galantis, New Order, DJ Khaled, Lorde, and Kendrick Lamar.

Cartagena, Colombia

TravelKelsey White9 Comments

Cartagena is one of the most picturesque and culturally inspiring cities I have ever visited. Colombia has been on my bucket list for a long time and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to visit! What's not to love? Colorfully painted streets, historic architecture, warm weather, and the lively energy of the city as a whole. Many people worry that Colombia is not a safe tourism destination, but I felt completely safe and had the most incredible experience while visiting. I HIGHLY recommend looking into booking a trip! A little about my stay...

Foray partnered with the brand Maaji for this getaway, hosting a group of bloggers to help bring awareness to the brand. Jill Wallace, Nicole Isaacs, Julia Friedman, Racquel Natasha, Kaitlynn Carter, and myself all came along for the journey. Maaji is a Colombian based resort & activewear label known for their reversible swimwear and bright, colorful prints. I was a fan of the brand before, but knowing the roots and the kind people behind the brand made me fall in love with it even more.

Ah Cabo, you never disappoint! Growing up in Southern California, Mexico has become my go to destination for a quick, beachy getaway.

I recently stayed at Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas with Becca Tilley and Kaitlynn Carter for a last minute getaway. The hotel was gracious enough to host us for the weekend and we had the best experience staying there. My room was one of their newly renovated casitas that had a beautiful view, complete with a jacuzzi on our balcony. Can you say dreamy!?

The service at Esperanza is 5-star and the staff goes above and beyond expectations to make you feel special. The hotel grounds are spacious, peaceful, and luxurious - perfect for a special occasion or relaxing girl's weekend! There are also a a variety restaurants on the property that service fresh and local cuisine. We quickly became friends with the executive chef, Guillermo who cooked the most amazing meals every night!

There are a ton of activities to do around the resort and in town. We especially enjoyed beach yoga, spa massages, tequila tasting, and camel riding. Yes, camel riding - hah! I have to say this was the highlight of our trip because we were laughing uncontrollably the entire time.

We also checked out Esperanza's newly opened property, Chileno Bay. The vibe is a little more modern and laid back compared to Esperanza's classic, luxury feel. The clean, all white design and Instagram worthy bar are just a few of the things that draw in a hip crowd. This hotel just opened, but I have a feeling I'll be seeing it all over Instagram real soon!

Thinking of planning a trip to Cabo soon? DO IT! Here are a few of my recommendations:

Park City, round 2! Foray Collective made their annual trip to Park City for Sundance Film Festival this year and it was an absolute blast. We rented a cozy Air BNB in Heber and hosted Becca Tilley, Marianna Hewitt, and Brittany Xavier (aka Thrifts and Threads). Kaitlynn Carter, Sophie Elkus, and Witney Carson were also in town for the weekend, so we were able to hang with them a bunch too!

Sundance is a crazy time in Park City. Main Street is filled with chaos and industry people buzzing around town. We made our way to handful events like the Robert Redford Sundance Kickoff Party, Nylon x Dream Hotels EventTone it Up Wellness Lounge, TAO Pop Up, and Chefdance. We also visited the Midway Ice Castle Park which is an absolute MUST to go see. The Montage Deer Valley also has a cute s'mores station set up everyday at 4:30pm that is open to the public.

It was snowing hard every day which made for amazing photos, but man, it was a hassle getting around town. We had some good laughs trying to navigate the snow - where is a guy when you need one?!!

Foray will definitely be coming back next year (and hopefully seeing more movies!) I'm already missing our cozy cabin and all of my girls! 'Til next year....

Lanai, HI

TravelLindsey Cavanaugh1 Comment

The island of Lanai is an undiscovered paradise.

Foray Collective, The Venue Report, and Four Seasons came together this round for an incredible trip to Lanai. The Venue Report is a digital media company dedicated to find the best of the best experiences, venues and hotels. Foray brought along bloggers Margo and MePam AllierSophie ElkusKaitlynn Carter, myself, and Foray co-founder Tiana Haraguchi. We also had my favorite photographer Derren Versoza join us to capture content.

We flew from LAX to Honolulu, followed by a speedy 20 minute flight to Lanai. We arrived  to the island with a warm aloha at the Four Seasons Lanai (leis, Mai Tai’s and all) as spent the evening settling in, getting familiar with the newly renovated property. On our way to dinner at the The Sports Bar and Grill, Kaitlynn and I noticed the Malibu Farm and Nobu (2 of our fav restaurants in LA) in the hotel!

Day 1, I woke up at 6am (so unlike me) to watch the sunrise and take on the breakfast buffet with Pam at One Forty. Our first activity was a snorkel sail organized by The Venue Report, so we rounded up the crew to set sea! The boat was our personal playground as we sailed off to our snorkel point. We had an awesome time taking photos, drinking champs, and taking in the views of the crystal clear water. Dinner that evening was around sunset at  NOBU, which all left us stuffed and wobbling back to our rooms!

Day 2 was our mountain horseback riding adventure into the hills surrounding Koele. We arrived at the staples and I was introduced to my gigantic horse, Bitter. Our tour guide Joel was straight out of an old western movie, complete with the folk singing all the way up the trail. The ride lasted about an hour and had stunning cliff top views where we all stopped for a photo opp. We headed back to the hotel to lounge by the pool cabanas and order lunch from Malibu Farm. Each of us also got poolside massage treatments which were unbelievable!

Day 3 was our free day – yay! I spent most of that day at the poolside cabana with the girls catching up and having a good laugh. I also made time to explore the beach and hit the fitness center for a quick workout before our red eye that evening.

I’ve been to Oahu, Honolulu, and Kauai, but Lanai had something special and untouched about it. The culture and history is deep rooted, and people of the island have great respect for tradition. I will definitely be coming back to Lanai – it’s actually my favorite Hawaii trip so far! The Venue Report and The Four Seasons Lanai made this experience truly special and I can’t be grateful enough for this opportunity. Until the next getaway…

An unforgettable experience to L'Auberge de Sedona.

I just got back from my trip to L'Auberge De Sedona and all I can say is what an UNREAL experience. This was the first getaway in a long time that I had the ability to be present in to moment, not thinking about emails, Instagram, texts, – whatever.

With organized activities like forest bathing, sound healing, apothecary blending and stargazing, the trip was unlike anything I have ever experienced.

Foray Collective organized the getaway and brought along bloggers Becca Tilley and Naila. The flight to Phoenix was a quick 1 hour 40 minutes, followed by a 2 hour drive to Sedona. Once we arrived at the resort, it was time for action! We came in hot at 4pm and went straight into adventure mode. Knowing that the sunset was at 5pm, we jolted to our rooms to change, then headed the Cathedral Rock – a spiritual vortex hike with an epic view. Time was against us, so we ran- no literally, ran to the top of Cathedral in 20 minutes. We got there just in time to take in the breathtaking sunset.

After the hike, we headed to 89 Agave for a much earned tequila tasting and Mexican feast. I especially loved the guacamole with pomegranate seeds, mango, and almonds – yum! We probably ate too much but hey, we earned it after that hike.

Our second day there was raining, but we made the most out of it with activities around the hotel property. First, we headed to sound healing, where our instructor lead us through a 1 hour meditative session using Himalayan jars creating healing sound vibrations. Not gonna lie, I was a bit giggly at first. But towards the ended I was in a state of complete relaxation.

Next off, we headed to forest bathing. And no – it’s not exactly what it sounds like. Forest bathing is a unique nature experience with reflective meditation. The 60 minute session begins with an instructor giving a brief introduction of the practice, followed by multiple exercises to practice being  present and mindful. The instructor gave each of us eco-friendly journals to jot down our thoughts during each exercise. We all agreed that it was a great and much needed moment to unplug from the chaos to get in touch with the healing aspects of nature.

With a clear mind, we headed to the L’Auberge Spa, where we had a custom blending bar to create personalized body scrubs and bath soaks – so cute! After quick nap, we polished off the day with a 3 course dinner at Cress – the food was delicious!

On our final day, it was time to take on The Grand Canyon. Seeing the canyon has been on my bucket list, so I was really looking forward to this! Up an at it at 7am, we headed there bracing ourselves for the 2 hour drive. Our Pink Jeep Tour guide Ted was insightful and taught us about the history of the Grand Canyon during our drive up. Once we made it to our first stop, I was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED. It’s one of those places you look at and go - Is this real?! What is life?! It’s literally mind-blowing to think something like that can be on this planet.

Overall, my experience at L’Auberge Sedona was eye opening. The group I traveled with was a great, and I am feeling so lucky to have had this experience. I will definitely be coming back to L’Auberge and the Grand Canyon when I need some mind clearing. I strongly recommended visiting! See my travel recommendations below:

STAY: L’Auberge de SedonaA 5-star resort experience. The rooms have wood burning fireplaces, outdoor showers, and the service is incredible. Definitely take advantage of the activities and amenities offered on site.

HIKE: Cathedral Rock – The Hike House is a great place to start planning your hike. They have trail guides set up on their website and in their store, and they can also set up a private guide to hike with you.

VISIT: Grand Canyon Pink Jeep Tours The jeeps are able to take you where you wouldn’t be able to access on foot, so you’ll get picturesque views and plenty of photo-worthy moments.

EXPERIENCE: Forest Bathing, Sound Healing, Apothecary Blending – All of these activities are offered through L’Auberge.

South Hampton, NY

A summer weekend in The Hamptons with Foray Collective.

I just got back from The Hamptons—South Hampton to be exact, and it was the most perfect end-of-summer vacay. It's a classic American destination that lives up to every ounce of hype it gets.

I went with the Foray Collective crew - @kaitlynn_carter, @caraasantana, @margoandme, @beccatilley, and @racquel_natasha. It was my first time meeting Jenny aka Margo and Me and she is amazing - super genuine, sweet, funny, and SERIOUSLY stylish. All influencers stayed at Chris Burch's (as in Tory Burch's former husband) estate, Chris also owns Nihiwatu Resort on Sumba Island (#1 resort in the world where Kaitlynn and Brody got engaged) and I'm dying to go there.

The estate is in an upscale, quiet, and incredibly charming neighborhood and the grounds were massive. We're talking rose gardens (I couldn't get over the landscaping throughout), beautiful rooms, and the dreamiest pool area. It was basically a magical playground for adults. We had a chef who served farm-to-table goodness 24/7—plus wine, obviously.

We arrived Thursday and walked straight to the beach, then to Wolffer Estate Vineyard for sunset + more wine. Dinner and drinks were back at "our" house that night.

Friday, we took a catamaran out from Sag Harbor. We brought sandwiches and a cheese platter (essential!) and the girls color-coordinated bathing suits from Solid and Striped. They are my favorite brand to wear in The Hamptons because the Americana vibe is fitting and uber chic. We sipped rose and danced on the boat all day—it was the ultimate girl time! On the way back, we hit up Grindstone Coffee + Donuts which is a must if you're ever in Sag Harbor. MMMM!

Saturday, Foray hosted a 'Secret Garden Soiree' at our estate. We had about 60 people join and everything was in the backyard. There was a lounge area on the grass with boho pillows and blankets—the coziest summer afternoon. We had everything from a monkey to famous magician Sean Borland, who freaked us out (in the best way) all day. The event was a total success and too much fun!

After the party, the whole crew went to a packed dinner at Moby's in East Hampton. I'd highly recommend the margarita pizza and summer squash, plus the cocktail list was beyond amazing.

Sunday was our last day and we were sooo sad to leave. I HAD to stop at Tate's Bake Shop (I love their gluten-free cookies and buy them at Whole Foods on the reg). Becca and I swooped up coffee + GF blueberry muffins before saying our goodbyes.

I'm already daydreaming about Summer 2017 in The Hamptons. For now, back to the West Coast!

PS - You can shop ALL of my looks from the trip HERE.

Amangiri, UT

A picturesque escape to Amangiri Resort in Utah with Kendra Scott x Who What Wear.

I feel very lucky to be able to travel often, and though every trip is special in its own way, I recently took one of the most memorable of my life. I visited Amangiri, Utah, and words can't describe what a trip this was. Amangiri is a secluded, ultra-lux, and modern hotel that's built into the stunning rocks of rural Utah. This place has been on my bucket list ever since I saw photos on IG years ago, and it did NOT disappoint!

I went with the Kendra Scott team, Who What Wear, Be Social PR, and Foray Collective, and my girls @sophieelkus, @kaitlynn_carter, and @littleblackboots. Foray + Be Social coordinated most of the trip, and WWW acted as an editorial partner since they'llbepublishing a piece on our trip soon! I also just signed to be a social influencer with Be Social, and I'm thrilled to be part of that team. This whole experience was amazing to be included on!

Pulling up to the hotel—after a 5-hour car ride from Vegas, that's how secluded it is!—we felt like we were on Mars. It was jaw-droppingly gorgeous. My favorite part was the pool, especially the shallow area that surrounded a huge natural rock with seating. We learned that the hotel was all-inclusive (cue lots of amazing food, including delish vegetarian options, + prickly pear margs (which are the pretty pink drinks in the photos)!

The first night, we attended the Kendra Scott x Who What Wear Dinner. The Kendra Scott Fall '16 Collectionwas inspired by the wild outdoors and natural stones, so thejewelry paired perfectly with theUtah atmosphere. The KS team set up a long, wooden table underneath the stars, surrounded by the mountains. The rustic table heldbeautifulfloral arrangements, candles, and jewelry from the collection.

The best part of the night was a METEOR SHOWER during dinner! It was super low to the ground, a slow and sparkling 15-second flash. It was incredibly stunning and we were speechless. I was lucky to get a video of it on Snapchat (P.S. I'm only using Instagram stories now!). I'll never forget that dinner.

The next day, we started with a Kendra Scott brunch where we got to create custom jewelry by setting our own stones. I chose to make a silver ring with a white druzy stone thatI absolutely LOVE. After making our pieces, we had the opportunity to make a custom piece (+ a handwritten note) for women fighting breast cancer. This was extra special for me since both my grandma and mom have cancer. Such a sweet touch by the KS team.

We alsovisited the spa and got mani/pedis with Kendra Scott's new polish collection. We then gotmassages which were SO relaxing. Jill and I may also have spent time laying in our bed with room service staring at our mountainviews. We followed that up by pool time. Ahhhhhh! Then we got the chance to visit Lake Powell for boat rides and stopped at some rock formations and jumping points to take photos.

The final day we were so sad to leave, but managed more pool time before heading out. And we had to fit in a few more margaritas!

I really hope that I get to revisit Amangiri, as the trip was simplymagical. I'm also excited to see the editorial of the trip go live on Who What Wear soon—keep an eye out!

Dominican Republic x Modeliste Magazine

It goes down in the DR.

Fresh off Miami Swim Week, I headed to another beautiful coastal destination: The Dominican Republic with Modeliste Magazine. I went alongside @racquelnatasha @nicoleissacs @jessimalay @littleblackboots and we stayed at the Hard Rock Punta Cana. Modeliste is a magazine focusing on modern day tastemakers and influencers, and they were kind enough to host us all week!

It was my first time in the Dominican, and the trip ended up being the most perfect wind-down after the madness of Swim Week. Plus, the quick 2-hour flight from Miami was ideal after running around like crazy all week.

And just when I thought the ocean in Miami was the prettiest…the turquoise waters of the DR were unbelievable. I love you, Miami, but the Dominican has everyone beat. I’ve never seen water like that, and I’ve had a lot of time near the coast!

Naturally, we spent most of our time at the beach. They had dreamy white cabanas and hammocks scattered along the sand; it was out of a postcard. I definitely got recharged with the R+R that my body was craving. The resort was all-inclusive so we made sure to take advantage of that while hanging. Can you say endless pina coladas and plantain chips?! Yummmm!

My favorite part of the trip was dinner on the beach for Jessi Malay’s birthday. It was our own personal area with the most gorgeous table setup (there were chandeliers!), a DJ, and a bar, all during a stunning sunset. I wore all white and ended up blending in perfectly with the setting. I hope Jess enjoyed her birthday as much as we did!

It definitely won’t be my last time in the Dominican. Thanks again, Modeliste!

Miami Swim Week 2016

Lifestyle, TravelLindsey Cavanaugh1 Comment

Another Swim Week for the books.

As I’m sure you saw on my Instagram and other blogger’s social accounts, Miami Swim Week took place a couple weeks ago. I went with my Foray Collective girls @kaitlynn_carter, @littleblackboots, @the_salty_blonde, @jessimalay, @blankinerary, @evelina, @naila, and @racquenatasha, and it was too much fun as always!

It was my FIFTH Swim Week in a row so I’m officially in veteran territory. Miami is one of my favorite places—the mix of city and beach is what I feel like I’m a hybrid of, and it’s hard not to fall in love with the energy there.

We stayed at the 1 Hotel South Beach which I’m obsessed with. Everything from the modern beach décor, to the clean, minimalist aesthetic matches my style perfectly and is what my décor dreams are made of.

The weekend was crazy busy, but in the best way. Friday we hosted a brunch with Kendra Scott Jewelry at our hotel. After that, we checked out the Bollare gifting hub in the Penthouse of the 1 Hotel. The suite had 360-degree windows, so as you can imagine, the views of the skyline + turquoise water were ahhhmazing! They had gifting racks from a few of my favorite brands like Alo Yoga, SUNDAY SOMEWHERE, and Vitamin A Swim. There was also a refreshment bar with coconut waters and sake-soaked pineapple skewers which is the best way to eat fruit, right?! Best of all, there was a beauty lounge upstairs where you could get VIP makeup, nail, and hair treatments. Basically the ultimate beachy dream scenario.

Saturday we hosted an event at Cecconi’s @ Soho House with bikini.com and Be Social PR. That was a blast!

And let’s not forget about the main reason we were all there…swimwear! We went to a bunch of shows including Tori Praver, VIX, For Love & Lemons (with an adorable French-girl theme), and Frankies Bikinis. Foray co-hosted the Indah show at the W hotel which was my personal favorite! We also attended the Mikoh cocktail party on the 1 rooftop where I got to catch up with designers Oleema and Kalani about their line.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to Miami, and I’m already looking forward to my Swim Week #6 in 2017!
